The City Council considered a motion to amend the zoning ordinance text for Limited Business Districts (Article 8, B1) and General Business Districts (Article 9, B2) to reflect a relocation of a marijuana establishment. The amendment adds the new Peastone Joslin Road location to the B2 district and removes the former Peastone Updike Road location from the B1 district. This change aligns the zoning ordinance with the City Council's previously approved license transfer. The Planning Commission had previously recommended approval of this text amendment.

City Council Approves Contracts for Giddings and Taylor Road Intersection Improvements
The City Council approved awarding contracts for the Giddings and Taylor Road intersection improvements. The project involves creating a single-lane roundabout with specific pavement and curb designs. Proline Asphalt Paving Corporation was the low bidder for the intersection improvements, with OHM Advisors selected for construction services and G2 Consulting for materials testing. The project is funded through a contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and contributions from Lear Corporation, with no direct city funds used. The project is scheduled to begin in early August and be completed by mid-November.
