Beach Grove Accepts Resignation of Assistant IDAX Coordinator Stacey Roman
The Board of Public Works and Safety accepted the resignation of Assistant IDAX Coordinator Stacey Roman, effective July 20th, 2026. The board approved the payment of 42.5 hours of accrued vacation time to Ms. Roman at a rate of $22.57 per hour, totaling $959.23. This payment is accounted for within the 2026 budget. The Chief of Police, Michael Maurice, expressed thanks for Ms. Roman's service and wished her well in her future endeavors. The board members also thanked Ms. Roman for her contributions to the City of Beach Grove.
Beach Grove Fall Festival Approved with Expanded Street Closures
The Beach Grove Promoters Club was granted approval for their 2026 Fall Festival events, which will include street closures and a parade. The festival is scheduled to take place from September 16th to the 19th, with expanded road closures from 2nd Avenue to 6th Avenue on Main Street, and closures on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Avenues. On Saturday, September 19th, Main Street from 17th Avenue to 7th Avenue will be closed for a parade. The purpose of the expansion and the requested closures is to accommodate higher caliber performers, reduce pedestrian traffic jams, and provide space for an expanded audience and festival attractions, including rides and support vehicles. The club also requested permission to place temporary signs in the city right away prior to the event. The board acknowledged the organization and cleanup efforts by the Promoters Club and the city's DPW, and the positive impact of the event on community engagement and tourism.
