Fire Department Members to Receive Paramedic Training
Resolution number 26-091 was adopted, authorizing an MOU with Mount West Community and Technical College to provide textbooks and three semesters of paramedic training for six members of the Charleston Fire Department. The anticipated total cost for this program is $37,000, with prices set forth in the MOU. Councilmember Jenkins stated this is part of the formal training to ensure all fire department members become trained paramedics. The finance committee recommended approval.
Proposed Ordinance to Expand No-Parking Zone on Garrison Avenue
Bill number 8086 was introduced, proposing to amend an ordinance related to a no-parking area on Garrison Avenue. The amendment would extend the no-parking designation to include both the easterly and westerly sides of Garrison Avenue and amend the traffic control map and traffic control file accordingly. The bill was referred to the planning, streets, and traffic committee.
