City Council Approves Temporary Snow Cone Stand at Bradley Fuel Until September 2026
The City Council approved the first and second readings of Bill Number 3593, which temporarily suspends the enforcement of section 10G of Ordinance 378 to permit a temporary food stand (snow cone truck) on the property at Bradley Fuel until September 30, 2026. An amendment was passed to include specific parameters: one temporary structure not exceeding 30 feet by 12 feet, hours of operation from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for safety reasons, and a requirement for the property owner and structure owner to obtain all necessary permits, including health and safety permits. City Council Denies Extended Hours for Old House at Hog Hollow After Vote Fails
The City Council voted on Bill Number 3591 concerning the Old House at Hog Hollow property. The bill aimed to repeal existing ordinances (819 and 1960) to amend regulations for a non-urban district with a landmark and preservation area overlay for a 2-acre tract north of Olive Boulevard and east of Spyglass Summit Drive. An amendment was proposed to allow indoor dining until 7:00 p.m. with no outdoor dining. The amendment passed 6-1. However, the subsequent vote on the main bill, as amended, failed with a vote of 4-3, requiring six votes to pass. Therefore, the proposed changes were not adopted.
Council Approves Preliminary Plat for Chesterfield Commons 7 Dealership
The City Council approved the preliminary plat for Chesterfield Commons 7, Lot 3, for a new development. The Planning Commission had recommended approval with a 6-0 vote. The Planning and Public Works Committee recommended approval with one condition: changing one tree from a red maple to an evergreen on the northwest portion of the site for better winter screening. This condition passed the committee with a 4-0 vote. The council approved the power of review as recommended by the committees with a 7-0 vote. The development, described as a dealership, is noted for its attractive design, including large glass elements, a mural, and enhanced landscaping.
