Cranford Planning Board Recommends Former EF Britton Site for Redevelopment Designation

The Cranford Planning Board conducted a public hearing to consider the designation of the former EF Britton facility at 24 South Avenue West as a non-condemnation area in need of redevelopment. The board heard testimony from Nicholas Dickerson of Colliers Engineering and Design, who presented a study outlining the property's conditions and recommending its designation based on statutory criteria A (deterioration and dangerous conditions), B (vacant and abandoned commercial industrial buildings), D (detrimental layout and improvements), and H (smart growth consistency). Following deliberations, the board voted to recommend to the Township Committee that the property be designated as a non-condemnation area in need of redevelopment, adopting resolution number 2026-08.
