Resident Appeals for Help Regarding Neglected Dog in Abandoned Property

A resident, Don Grimes, brought to the attention of the Dearborn Heights City Council a concerning situation involving a neglected dog left in a house that has reportedly been used for drug activity and prostitution. Grimes has been in contact with various city departments and law enforcement officials, including detectives, the narcotics department, the chief of police, and building department officials, who have condemned the house and addressed some of the illegal activities. However, the dog remains in the abandoned house without utilities, causing distress to Grimes and his neighbor. Grimes is seeking guidance on how to help the dog and expressed frustration with the lack of immediate assistance after being hung up on by 911 and not receiving a definitive resolution from ordinance or police departments, despite being told it would be handled. Council Chair O'Reilly requested the address and promised a follow-up call.
