Township Committee Handles Ordinances, Resolutions, and Confidential Matters
The Township Committee addressed various administrative and governance matters, including the introduction of ordinances, approval of resolutions, and departmental reports. They also convened in a closed executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters, including ongoing labor negotiations, potential lease of township property, and the Tilton Road lease. Following the closed session, a motion was made to extend the lease agreement with Bright Scholars Learning Center for 60 days.
Township Pursues and Receives Grants for Environmental and Energy Planning
The Township Committee discussed and approved resolutions related to grant applications and funding. A resolution was approved by title only to support a Sustainable Communities Grant application of $5,000 funded by Atlantic City Electric. This grant will be supervised by the Environmental Commission and Nature Reserve Committee and used over 12 months to achieve parts of a previously drafted vision plan for the nature reserve. Additionally, a $10,000 grant for creating a Community Energy Plan was received, with funding released on July 1st. This plan will be evaluated over the next 12 months in subcommittees and public forums, and will be integrated into the larger master plan review for 2027.
Evesham Township Recognizes Multiple Youth Baseball Championship Teams
The Evesham Township Committee recognized and congratulated multiple youth baseball teams for their championship achievements in various tournaments throughout the season. The teams celebrated included the 8U baseball players, the AAU EHT baseball team (Father's Day tournament champions), the 10U EHT baseball team (Seneca War in the Woods and EHT Father's Day Tournament champions), the 11U EHT baseball team (Sports at the Beach, John Cobb Invitational, and Run for the Roses Tournament champions), the 12U EHT Baseball Team (Galloway Township Invitational Tournament champions), and the 14U EHT baseball team (Father's Day Tournament champions). Coaches and team members were acknowledged for their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Ordinance Introduced to Allocate $1.8 Million for Community Center Improvements
The Township Committee introduced Ordinance 17, which authorizes the appropriation of $1.8 million from the capital improvement account for facility improvements and upgrades at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center. The public hearing for this ordinance is scheduled for August 12, 2026.
Township Committee Introduces Ordinance for Land Exchange with South Jersey Gas
The Township Committee introduced Ordinance 16, which authorizes a land exchange between Egg Harbor Township and South Jersey Gas Company. The exchange involves the township conveying property (block 2903, lot 13) to South Jersey Gas, and receiving properties at 6009 West Jersey Avenue (block 2903, lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) and Kates Road (lots 6, 101, 103, 105, 107) in return. This exchange is pursuant to New Jersey statute 48:12-16. A public hearing for this ordinance is scheduled for August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
