This project involves removing and replacing approximately 1,800 feet of existing concrete pavement in one east-west alley, serving about 53 residential and one commercial property. Veno Concrete was the lowest of four bidders and came in 89% under the engineer's estimate. The project is funded by LIT, with completion expected by October 16th of the current year.
Fort Wayne Approves Data Backup and Restore Licensing Agreement with Shared Funding
The Council approved an ordinance for hardware and software licenses to back up and restore data, contracted through Elevate Technology Partners, at a total cost not to exceed $380,202.50. This cost will be split among Civil City (40%, $152,081), Allen County (40%, $152,081), and City Utilities (20%, $76,040.50). The licenses are for the backup system supporting approximately 680 assets and about 67 petabytes of data weekly, with over 99% compression. The system allows for proactive planning of maintenance, extends asset life, and minimizes downtime. Efforts are underway to reduce the amount of data backed up by identifying duplicates and sensitive information.
