Haltom City Approves Amendment to Pickleball Facility Agreement, Streamlining Operations
The council approved an amendment to the Chapter 380 Agreement for the pickleball facility located on Haltom Road, operated by Haltom PR Investment, LLC d/b/a. The sole change is the removal of the requirement for the facility to operate as a franchised Pickleball Kingdom location. All other terms of the agreement remain in effect. The commencement of construction is mandated no later than July 31st, with the final plat deadline having been met on January 31st.
MX Construction Services Awarded Contract for Rita Lane Improvement Project
The council awarded the construction contract for the improvement of Rita Lane, between Vicky Street and Ira Street, to MX Construction Services. The bid amount is $3,918,745. This project is one of several street construction initiatives planned, aiming to address resident requests for visible infrastructure improvements. The city received 14 bids for this project, attributed to improved advertising methods including an online portal and potential slowdowns in other public works projects.
3D Paving and Contracting Awarded Contract for Multi-Street Residential Road Reconstruction
The council approved the award of bid B2026.212.004 for the residential road reconstruction project encompassing Hunter, Aurora, Nan's, Roxy, Sabell, and Shan Ann streets. The low bid was submitted by 3D Paving and Contracting for $5,194,765.50. This project groups five street segments to achieve economies of scale and involves not only paving but also replacement of water and sewer systems and the addition of drainage systems where inadequate. The projected completion time for this project is 730 consecutive days, which accounts for work across multiple streets.
Park Supervisor Ed Arthur Earns National Certified Playground Safety Inspector Certification
Ed Arthur, the park supervisor, was recognized for achieving a national certification as a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. This certification is obtained through the Recreation and Park Association, with only about 15% of over 100,000 park and recreation professionals in the United States achieving it. Ed's certification will allow him to certify playground equipment, ensuring child safety.
