Curtis provided several upcoming event announcements: National Night Out on August 4th will start the board meeting at 7:30 PM. Coffee with the Mayor is on August 8th at 9:00 AM. Walnut Street Market returns on August 15th from 10 AM to 2 PM, featuring Shakespeare in the Grass performances. Preparations are also underway for October Fest and President's Cup recognition.

Village Earns First-Ever Certificate of Achievement for Financial Reporting Excellence

Jennifer reported that the village received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year 2025 annual comprehensive financial report. This is the first time the village has received this recognition. She credited Seldon Fox and Sikage for their work, as well as her staff who took the initiative to gather historical and background information, significantly reducing the cost and effort for the audit firm. This data is already proving useful for future planning.

National Safety Council Building in Spring Lake Business Park Listed for Sale

During the report from Community Development, it was mentioned that the National Safety Council has officially listed their large building in the Spring Lake Business Park for sale. Cushman Wakefield, a major Chicago land broker, has been engaged. The building has begun attracting interest from potential buyers.

Community Events Highlight Staff Dedication and Public Works Excellence

Jennifer mentioned two community events that occurred: Ice Cream with the Cops and Firefighters at Usher Park, which was moved to different locations due to heat, and Itasa Fest, which was successful due to the significant efforts of the Public Works staff in site setup and Mike Subers, who served as the volunteer head of the event's volunteer staff. The board also acknowledged the excellent work of Public Works in laying stones at the entrance of Usher Park and the Full of Beans entrance, which looked professional and saved the village money.

The board approved the record of bills.
