City Council Awards Contract for Lift Station Rehabilitation and Approves Engineering Agreement

The lift station is located on the southeast bank of the central basin outfall waterway, south of Fairway. City Council Accepts $1.6 Million Federal Grant for Storm Hardening of Electric Infrastructure

The City Council approved accepting a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for storm hardening improvements to the electric infrastructure in Jacksonville Beach. The grant will fund approximately 65% of the total project cost, which is $2.45 million, for undergrounding existing overhead electric facilities between 2nd Avenue North and 12th Avenue North, west of Penman Road. This project is part of Beaches Energy's long-term capital improvement plan to enhance reliability and resilience, with construction expected between 2026 and 2028. The council also authorized the mayor and city manager to execute the grant agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
