EVMWD Provides Update on Major Sewer Pipeline Projects and Potential Water Acquisition
The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) presented an update on several infrastructure projects. The Mission Trail sewer pipeline project, a significant undertaking for both EVMWD and the City of Lake Elsinore, is divided into two phases. Phase one, currently under construction, involves approximately 3,200 linear feet of 36-inch sewer main using micro-tunneling and open-cut methods, with a projected completion in March 2027 and a cost of $16 million. Phase two, currently in design, will add another 15,300 linear feet of sewer main, extending from the B-2 lift station south along Mission Trail to Palomar, with design completion anticipated in March 2027 and construction estimated to take 24-30 months, potentially concluding around December 2029. This project aims to expand sewer capacity for future development. Other infrastructure investments highlighted include the Avenues Septic to Sewer Project, a grant-funded initiative expected to complete in early 2027, which has already converted 25 homes to the district sewer system. The Diamond Regional Sewer Lift Station Project, a $54 million investment, is scheduled for completion around April of the following year. The Riverside Drive sewer improvements project has recently begun construction. EVMWD also provided information on a potential water acquisition from Northern California's Potter Valley area, noting they are in the due diligence stage and have filed a motion to intervene in related proceedings.

Councilmember Carroll announced National Night Out, an event scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th, at McVicar Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature opportunities to meet local first responders, explore police, fire, and emergency vehicles, and enjoy free activities, games, and fun for all ages. This community event aims to connect neighbors and celebrate the strength of the community.
