The Finance and Budget Committee reported on the 2025 annual audit, conducted by Plant Moran. The general fund balance increased to $20.2 million (28% of expenditures), exceeding best practices. Expenditures were $3 million under budget, and revenue was $236,000 over budget, primarily due to police department vacancies impacting public safety spending. The cable television fund balance has significantly declined to $70,000, prompting a recommendation for close evaluation.
City Approves Storm Sewer Easements from AR Packing Co. Inc.
The City Council approved the acceptance of a grant of easement from AR Packing Co. Incorporated for a storm sewer easement in the northwest quarter of Section 28. This approval was for two separate tax ID numbers, one being 406-109-03-0822-012 and the other being 46-110-99-0003-003. Both were passed unanimously.
Wild Ones Promotes Native Landscaping and Biodiversity Initiatives in Livonia
Bob Hauser of Wild Ones provided an update on the organization's activities, including participation in the Greenleaf Committee's native plant sale, which saw significant interest.
