Midville Council Tables Rezoning Decision for Greenwood Ave Property, Seeks Development Agreement

The City Council tabled a decision on a zone map amendment for 620 East Greenwood Avenue and 7500 South 700 East, which proposed adding a duplex overlay to the existing single-family residential one zone. The decision was tabled to allow the developer and city staff to finalize a development agreement that addresses concerns raised by the council, including capping the number of units at 34, ensuring the south and west-facing units are single-story ramblers, subdividing lots for individual ownership, ensuring full driveways where possible, and addressing community amenities. The council also directed staff to investigate traffic calming measures for the intersection near the site. The existing SF1 zoning allows for single-family homes, while the proposed duplex overlay would permit higher density housing.
