Flugos Mexican Restaurant to Offer Liquor with Carry-Out Orders Following License Change
The Village Board approved Ordinance 27-10, amending the Morton Municipal Code regarding Class 3 liquor licenses to allow Flugos Mexican restaurant to offer carry-out with liquor orders. This change will reclassify their license from a B2 to a B3, resulting in one less B2 license and one more B3 license.
DtoZ Properties Receives Additional Grant for Building Improvements
The Village Board approved a $5,000 grant for DtoZ Properties (J and Jade business) for design and engineering costs related to their building improvement project at 1900 South Main. This was in addition to a previously approved $10,000 for building improvements. The total design and engineering cost for the project was $18,275.

Stam 208 Receives Grant for Building Improvements on West Jefferson
The Village Board approved a grant for Stam 208, property owners at 200 West Jefferson, to enclose their front porch and install new windows, making it part of their waiting area. This property is located next to the village parking lot and water station on the corner of Main and Jefferson.
Increased Taxes Fund Public Safety, Fire Station Construction; Energy Agreement Approved
The village is increasing its municipal retailers occupation tax and municipal service occupation tax by 0.25% to cover increased costs for police, fire, and paramedics, as well as funding for a new fire truck and the construction of a new fire station. Later, Resolution 1027 was approved to authorize loan application documents for the new fire station, with clarification that it pertains to wastewater treatment plant loan documents. Resolution 1127 was approved, authorizing an agreement with Voltus Incorporated regarding distributing energy for city-owned buildings at a cost of around $60,000.
