The city council approved an update to the subdivision land development ordinance requiring fencing around all future constructed stormwater control mechanisms (stormwater ponds) to prevent drownings. This measure addresses health hazards posed by deep ponds and was developed in consultation with the storm water team and planning department, receiving unanimous recommendation from the planning commission.
