Tillotson Avenue Repaving and Sewer Replacement Project Updates
Mayor Reidenauer provided an update on the upcoming repaving and sewer line replacement project on Tillotson Avenue. AEP has completed its utility work, and the Muncie Sanitary District has begun sewer line replacements, starting at Kilgore and moving north towards 7brew. This work is expected to take four to five weeks before paving can commence. The project, awarded to Milestone Contractor LP for $5,368,000, received an 80-20 federal grant, with the federal government covering 80% of the cost. To minimize disruption, any full road closures will occur overnight, while lane closures will take place during the day. The mayor emphasized the need for this project due to the road's heavy traffic and the extensive utility work required.
