City Council Approves Lindsay Tower Resurfacing Contract and Drainage Improvement Easements

The City Council considered and approved bid 2627-04 and contract K-2627-10 between the Norman Utilities Authority and TMI Coatings LLC for the Lindsay Tower resurfacing project. The approved amount is $532,200, which includes two logos. The council also discussed the option of a simpler white paint job for $477,700 and the potential for a third-party partnership to fund the logos. The project aims to preserve the tower's condition while exploring revenue generation opportunities. A separate contract for lighting will be considered later. The council also approved temporary construction easements for the Summit Hollow Drainage Improvement Project to address ongoing issues with collapsed drainage channels and floating pipes, ensuring proper restoration of affected backyards.
