City Authorizes Application for Blue Shield Grant and Jackson Street Trail Agreement
The city is authorizing the application for, acceptance of, and all necessary actions for a Missouri Department of Public Safety Blue Shield grant. Additionally, the city is authorized to enter into a license agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission related to a Jackson Street Trail Connector. Both items were approved as part of the consent agenda.
City Council Considers Rezoning of 2450 North Bagio Street to General Commercial
The city council reviewed a rezoning request for a property at 2450 North Bagio Street. The property, currently zoned industrial with a body shop, is proposed to be rezoned to general commercial. This change is intended to facilitate a future lot line adjustment or split, separating the existing body shop from the remainder of the property for future development. The planning and zoning commission recommended approval of the rezoning, and staff supports this recommendation. The proposed commercial zoning is consistent with the future land use designation in the comprehensive plan and aligns with the surrounding commercial and industrial zoning.
City Approves Resolution to Prioritize Highway CC Improvements
The city is seeking to increase the prioritization level of Highway CC, specifically from 23rd Street to Fremont, by adopting Resolution 2043. This resolution allows the Ozark Transportation Organization to assign an additional 10 points to the project, aiming to expedite its inclusion in the state's transportation improvement program. Highway CC improvements are already ranked in the top 10, and these additional points could improve its position on the list, potentially speeding up congestion reduction efforts. Project one is complete, project two begins August 3rd, and project three will be presented on August 3rd, covering improvements from 22nd Street to Long View.
