ComEd presented its annual reliability report for Park Forest, indicating a 99.98% reliability rating for 2025, performing better than the region and ComEd benchmark, except during storms. Park Forest Approves Sale of Land for Battery Energy Storage System Facility
The Board of Trustees approved an ordinance authorizing a real estate sale and development agreement with New South Town Investments LC for a battery energy storage system (BESS) facility. Park Forest Approves Expansion of Downtown Parking Lot Resurfacing to Include Cunningham Drive
The Board of Trustees approved a revised contract with Irocus Paving for the resurfacing of the north downtown parking lot and Cunningham Drive, increasing the total cost to $230,909. The original contract only covered the parking lot, but based on a trustee's inquiry, Cunningham Drive was added. The additional road work for Cunningham Drive will cost $23,442.05 and will be funded by Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds, up to $25,000, with the remainder of the parking lot project funded by local dollars. The MFT funds are allocated to the village from the state based on population and used for roadwork.
Park Forest Contracts PACOM for Time Card and Payroll Services, Anticipates Cost Savings
The Board of Trustees approved authorizing the village manager to enter into a contract with PACOM for village time card and payroll services for a total first-year cost of $113,488.49. The village has outgrown its current time card software, Executive Time, and faced challenges in replacing staff for payroll processing due to a decline in accounting graduates. PACOM was selected after evaluating four vendors. The new system will integrate with the village's ledger system via an automatic SFTP file feed. The contract includes a one-time setup charge of over $13,000 and an estimated annual charge of over $100,000. This move is projected to save the village approximately $33,000 annually by eliminating the need for a payroll accountant position and discontinuing the Executive Time contract. PACOM assures robust security measures and data backup protocols.
