Local History Department Completes Research, Updates Website, and Sets Up Business Display

The local history department completed research and work on an article for the Ransom House, creating a new historical marker for the website. Research was conducted regarding the U.S. Bicentennial and Tria Country Club Road, and responses were provided to Channel 10 reporter Emily Putnam. They also responded to DPW requests concerning former businesses on Main Street and a sinkhole issue. A display of models of former businesses on Commercial Street was set up, and inquiries were handled regarding a Chickering piano and a banknote with Kate Gleason's signature. Donations of photos and a sketch were received. Anita Mance submitted the report.

Fire Department Announces July Events, Issues Safety Tips

The East Rochester Village Board received a report from Trustee Woodworth regarding the East Rochester Fire Department. The report detailed upcoming July events: a chicken barbecue on July 22nd, a music fest on July 23rd featuring Fakudalika and Northside Johnny, and another music fest on July 24th with Rosendube Irish Band and Whiskey Glasses. The kiddie fire parade is scheduled for July 25th at 10 AM, following a 9:30 AM lineup, requiring RSVP to Tasha by July 17th. The fireman's parade starts at 6:30 PM on the same day. Safety reminders for power outages were also included. The department responded to 48 calls in June.

South Lincoln Road to Undergo Milling and Paving in August

The Department of Public Works announced that the Monroe County Department of Transportation is planning to mill and pave South Lincoln Road from Commercial Street to Fairport Road. Milling is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 17th, with paving to follow the week of August 24th. The town of Clarkson will manage the project for the DOT. Residents should expect delays and use caution during these periods. Pete, from DPW, expressed happiness about this project, noting the village's collective happiness.

Community, Senior, and Youth Centers Report on May and June Activities

The Community Resource Center, Senior Center, and Youth Activity Center provided updates on their May and June activities. The Community Resource Center serviced 52 families and 156 individuals with food, clothing, and household items in May, largely supported by community donations and partnerships. The Senior Center organized a bus trip, a painting event, and a dinner outing for its 148 members. The Youth Activity Center hosted 27 children in its after-school program and began a six-week summer camp with 20 children daily, focusing on patriotic themes in its first week.

East Rochester Fire Department Announces July Events, Issues Safety Reminders

The East Rochester Fire Department announced upcoming events in July, including a chicken barbecue on Wednesday, July 22nd ($15) and a music fest on Thursday, July 23rd, featuring Fakudalika and Northside Johnny.
