Council Tables Vote on Jazz in the Grove Sponsorships Amidst Financial Questions
The council discussed the acceptance of donations totaling $4,470 for Jazz in the Grove. A motion to approve was made and seconded, but due to questions from council members regarding the specifics of sponsorships and amounts, particularly concerning Steel City Consulting's role and fees, the vote was tabled. The discussion also touched upon the city's $15,000 investment and supplemented sponsorships. Ms. Sheila Smoot, who assisted with the event, presented a post-event report and offered to answer questions at a later meeting after the council had reviewed the report. The council decided to table the vote on accepting sponsorships until the August 3rd meeting to allow for clarification of the financial details and pending sponsorships.
