Raytown Pursues Multiple Transportation Alternatives Program Grants for City-Wide Connectivity and Safety Improvements

The Raytown Board of Aldermen is considering multiple applications for Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding through the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). These applications aim to secure funding for various connectivity and safety projects across the city, including bikeways, multi-use pathways, and historic trail retracements. The city is committed to providing the required local match and administering the projects if funding is awarded. The proposed projects include the 63rd Street Bikeway Connectivity Project, the 55th Street Multi-Use Pathway Project, the Blue Ridge Boulevard Historic Trail Retracement Project, and the Gregory Boulevard Transportation Accessibility Improvements Project. These projects aim to improve safety, encourage alternative transportation, reduce emissions, and potentially boost economic development, with funding expected in approximately two to two and a half years.
