City Awards Salt Bid to Morton Salt, Increases Tonnage
The city of Richmond is awarding a bid for road salt for the fiscal year 26-27 to Morton Salt. The cost per ton is $138.94, and purchases will be funded through municipal aid funds. The city is increasing its salt tonnage from 2,000 to 3,000 tons due to high usage from the previous winter. City Considers Support for Backpack Program for Students

City Donates Land for New Kentucky State Police Post
The city of Richmond will donate a tract of approximately 6 to 8.3 acres of property located at 495 Duncan Lane to the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the Kentucky State Police. The land is to be used for a new KSP post. The environmental narrative for the project has been completed and shows the project to be of overwhelming benefit to the city and its citizens. The property is being donated at no cost, with the purchaser agreeing to pay zero dollars. This transaction was discussed during a closed session regarding real estate sales.
Marilyn Ballinger Retires from Finance Department After 12 Years of Service
The city of Richmond has accepted the retirement of Marilyn Ballinger from the Finance Department, where she served as Senior Clerk. Her retirement is effective July 31st. The city recognized her service and dedication since 2012. The retirement is documented under Order 26-110.
City Declares Surplus Property for Disposition via Online Auction
Order 26-107 declares certain city property as surplus and provides for its disposition. The property listed, submitted by the police, recycle, and vehicle maintenance departments, is no longer needed by the city and is not suitable for its intended purpose. The disposition will occur via electronic auction on govdeals.com following legal publication.
