The proposed program, developed in collaboration with the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, aims to help these businesses document losses and navigate the ongoing construction period. The council has directed staff to research options and present them in September, with a preference for the Chamber of Commerce to lead the initiative.
City Announces Third Annual Animal Care Grant Program with $50,000 Allocation
The city is launching its third annual animal care grant program, allocating $50,000 to support local nonprofit organizations serving the city's animal population. City Takes Over Cooper Street Parking Structure Management, Approves CFD Modifications
The City Council approved the annexation of parcels into the Cooper Street Community Facilities District (CFD) and modifications to the district, along with approving agreements related to the transfer of operation and maintenance of the Cooper Street parking structure to the city. The city will now manage the structure, leading to estimated annual savings of $162,000. The developer will pay a settlement of $770,000 for past delinquencies and maintenance deficiencies, with approximately $976,000 in special taxes, penalties, and interest waived.
