Sherwood AMP Commission Approves Funding for Lake Cherrywood Spillway Repair Overage

The Sherwood AMP Commission reviewed a bid for repairs to the Lake Cherrywood spillway. The initial estimated cost was $100,000, with AMP covering 80% ($80,000) and the city covering 20% ($20,000). However, a geotechnical report revealed the need for extensive sheet piling, increasing the low bid from Wagner to $193,422. The commission discussed the necessity of the additional work, the depth of the sheet piling, and the expected lifespan of the repairs. The commission voted to approve their portion of the overage, which is half of the difference, amounting to $46,711, to be funded from capital expenses. The city council will be asked to approve the remaining half.
