Skoki Village Swears In New Fire Lieutenant and Two Firefighters

The Skoki Village Board swore in a new lieutenant and two new firefighters. Bruce Rottner of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners administered the oaths. Jacob Gayer was promoted to lieutenant, and Patrick Fehey and Casmir Plonzinski were sworn in as firefighters. The board congratulated the new officers and their families.

Skoki Expands Youth Commission to 25 Members Amidst Strong Interest

The Skoki Village Board approved the formation and expansion of a new Youth Commission. Initially planned for 16 members, the board increased the capacity to up to 25 members to accommodate strong applicant interest, including outreach to Evanston Township High School District. The commission will focus on youth concerns such as isolation, mental health, social media impact, and the need for safe gathering spaces. Amarie Bonuzi and Brian McHugh will staff the commission.

Improvements include masonry repair, tuck pointing, roof repairs, ticket window and marquee restoration, lobby remodeling, and HVAC upgrades. The theater is expected to reopen in late September.
