Police Department Approved to Purchase New Patrol Vehicle and Emergency Equipment
The Police Department requested approval to purchase a new 2026 Chevy Tahoe to replace a 2017 Ford Explorer that has experienced numerous maintenance issues and is no longer reliable. The new vehicle will serve as a patrol vehicle. Funding for the replacement was approved in the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget. The council approved the purchase of the Tahoe from Burgger Chevrolet for $55,977. A subsequent motion approved the purchase of emergency equipment for the new Tahoe from Mid Michigan Emergency Equipment for $18,871.60. The old Ford Explorer will be offered to other departments before being auctioned.
DDA Director Updates Council on Downtown Initiatives, Event Cancellation, and New Marketing Campaign

Council Approves Groundwater Replacement Well Project and Budget Amendment

Council approved waving the three-bid minimum requirement and awarded the contract, requiring a separate budget amendment. The budget amendment to increase the water and sewer fund budget was also approved. The project completion is estimated between November and December.
New Social Media Campaign Launched to Support Businesses During Construction
