City Approves Acquisition of 1229 Crestwood Drive for Future Park Development

The City Council approved a resolution to appropriate $1,442,000 from the Parkland Acquisition Fund for the purchase of 1229 Crestwood Drive for future park purposes. The city manager is authorized to execute documents to complete the acquisition. This property is considered a critical community priority for a park in the Sunshine Gardens neighborhood, identified in past and current general plans. The property is a 1,460 sq ft single-family home on a 4,860 sq ft lot, located adjacent to Sunshine Gardens Elementary School. In the short term, the home could be leased out to offset costs. The purchase price was $1,405,000, plus additional funding for closing costs.
