City Council Approves Contract for 2050 Comprehensive Plan Update
The city is seeking to approve a professional service contract with Stantech Consulting Services for the 2050 Comprehensive Plan update. This plan will serve as a long-range policy document guiding decisions for the next 20 years and must be updated every 10 years per state law. The goal is to create a digital, interactive plan that is easier to use and update, while also maintaining a print version for Met Council guidelines. Stantech was selected from three proposals due to their demonstrated thoughtful approach, comprehensive scope, and enthusiasm. The update process is scheduled to begin in 2026 and conclude with plan adoption by the end of 2028.
