Council Debates EMS Fee Amidst Resident Concerns

Council Approves First Reading of Utility Fee Adjustments
Ordinance 2026-59 was presented to amend fees related to street utilities, including water, private fire lines, and storm water. The amendment establishes a quarterly fee for unmetered 12-inch fire lines due to a new building requiring one, basing the fee on increased line size. It also proposes increasing the deposit for hydrant meters from $1,250 to $2,000 to cover potential damage costs by contractors. Finally, it introduces delinquency fees for storm water charges, aligning them with water and sewer fees. The ordinance passed its first reading.
